Chinese Takeaway, Newtown Wales
It became clear that there was no supplied fresh air being forced into the kitchen and after conducting an atmosphere analysis it was evident that the temperature and the amount of carbon dioxide in the kitchen was way too high.
Canary Gas had been asked to come and look at the gas cooking equipment at Kwai Chin Chinese Takeaway in Newtown Wales for what started as a routine Service on a Wok Range; Fryer & a Range Cooker. When we arrived on site and ran all the equipment on full rate it became clear that there was no supplied fresh air being forced into the kitchen. After conducting an Atmosphere Analysis, it was clear that the temperature and the amount of carbon dioxide in the kitchen was way too high.
The owner, Niki, was extremely concerned when the results of the test were revealed and promptly asked us if we could rectify the problem. A week or so later we returned to Kwai Chin to install a forced air supply into the kitchen - terminating above the Canopy near the ceiling.
After completion, we conducted another Atmosphere Analysis - this time it was well within the recommended parameters.
